Table Manners

November: Table Manners

November is the month when entertaining starts to pick up and the holiday craze is only weeks away. Brooke loves to set a table and Jenny loves to cook so together November is a great month to show off what we love to do. This month we interview our friend and author of “Joie - A Parisian’s Guide to Celebrating The Good Life” Ajiki Aki. We created two tablescapes complete with simple but impressive menus to wow your dinner guests. We’ve also curated 8 list ideas to churn up entertaining inspiration…plus more!

Meet us at the corner once a month where we interview fun, creative people and learn about their effortless taste and style.

Ajiri Aki

Author of JOIE: A Parisian's Guide to Celebrating the Good Life and founder of the online boutique Madame de la Maison. Ajiri is a creative talent both in design and antiquing. She is a source of inspiration for everything needed to set a divine tabletop to enjoying all the treasures and magic of Paris.

Two Tables

We love color, lighting and a good bud vase with any store bought flowers. Rebecca Gardner of Houses and Parties has created the perfect lighting solution with a small lamp shade that sits atop a small table lamp base. We use these on repeat with an array of different color shades to play with. The lamp shades should only be used with a battery operated candle and we found none better than Glassy Baby’s remote controlled Evie tea lights. When it comes to wine glasses we only have one love- Richard Brendon. And for water we found the daintiest water glass from Josephine Fisher Interiors that has the faintest tint of pink and yellow. Spice up seating your table with Dear Annabelle’s cheeky place cards. Finally, remind your guests of where all the fun will take place with the utmost, chicest customizable text by HiNote

DRINK

Cocktailing at Bix

Bix is one of our all time favorite San Francisco “spots.” The restaurant and bar are nestled in an alley way in Jackson Square. Upon entering the former bank building where years ago gold was once counted, a world of cocktails, jazz and delicious food awaits. The high ceilings, long traditional bar and second floor booths take you back in time where dining out is a special occasion and one must take their time to soak it all in.

MAKE

Pecan Tassies

Jenny’s mom, “Tita”, knows her way around a kitchen. These are her pecan tassies- the perfect tiny sweet bite after a big meal or with a cup of afternoon tea.
